Interesting fact ☝🏼 It was our signature practice that led us to this stunning location.

As part of freediving, underwater meditation required three things:

1. Being as close to the ocean as possible — ideally, right on the water.
2. Calm seas — Indonesia’s famous surfing waves are beautiful but unsuitable for freediving.
3. A sheltered bay, free from the strong currents this country is known for.

These conditions once seemed impossible, but they kept pushing us forward. We weren’t just looking for the right location for a yoga retreat — we were searching for a true freediving hub as well. And our efforts were rewarded.

We didn’t just find what we were looking for — we found more. A triple-beach bay with perfect freediving conditions all year round. Another, even larger bay hidden in the backyard — not as bright, but always calm, offering ideal depths of 40-50 meters with no currents. Neighboring the Komodo National Park with its famouse dive sites and the whale sharks of Sumbawa, which can be visited from here. And beyond all that, simply an incredibly beautiful place.

For us, this is proof that practice is not just a discipline — it is a guide.

Three years. Five countries. Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Maldives, Sri Lanka. We hiked, sailed, and trekked through dozens of islands and hundreds of beaches. Each step brought us closer to the dream, but never quite there — until we found this land. East Sumbawa wasn’t just a stop on the map; it was the destination. Over 10 islands in Indonesia alone, and still, nothing compared.

This choice wasn’t random — this place called to us, and the land itself holds the energy we had been searching for. With its close reach to the legendary Komodo National Park and the massive volcano, Sangeang, this land is surrounded by natural wonders. The beaches here stretch endlessly, untouched and pristine, offering some of the most breathtaking views you’ll ever find.
Sumbawa is wild, raw and absolutely unique. Truly special in every way.
