Wildlife Watching
House Reef & Manta Rays
Just steps from your door, our house reef is alive with vibrant coral and teeming marine life. Manta rays grace our bay almost all year round, offering unforgettable encounters for marine lovers. In the fall, you might even spot migrating blue whales passing by — adding a rare and magical touch to your experience.
On land, the wildlife is just as diverse. Kingfishers, majestic eagles, and many other birds fill the skies. Shy wild boars and dignified monkeys roam nearby, thankfully never disturbing the camp. Even the lizards, though smaller than those on Komodo, bring their own charm to the ecosystem. It’s a world full of life and beauty, whether you’re looking above the water or below.
Komodo National Park
Just an hour by speedboat from the world-famous Komodo National Park, we offer excursions into one of the most breathtaking protected areas on the planet. Swim with graceful manta rays, visit rare pink-sand beaches, and encounter the legendary Komodo dragons — endemic creatures found nowhere else on Earth. These real-life dragons, the world’s largest lizards, captivate with their mix of majesty and mystery, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a world of ancient legends.
Every journey through these vibrant coral gardens and scenic viewpoints leaves an unforgettable mark.
Whalesharks & Sumbawa Wonders
Our adventures don’t stop at Komodo. Sumbawa offers another rare opportunity — a once-in-a-lifetime experience to swim with whale sharks. There’s a dedicated whale shark park in Sumbawa, where you can safely swim alongside these gentle giants in their natural habitat. This overnight excursion from our center promises an unforgettable experience with one of nature’s most magnificent creatures.
For shorter, equally remarkable trips, we also offer a visit to Sangeang Volcano and its bubble-reef, where volcanic activity creates a mesmerizing underwater landscape perfect for exploration and photography. And don’t miss Sumbawa’s hidden pink beach, a secluded gem just a short drive away.
Sumbawa is also rich with waterfalls, traditional villages, and other hidden gems waiting to be explored.
