Q&A
The retreat
What are the guiding rules of Ocean Mantra Village?
Ocean Mantra Village is a space for deep rest and mental reset. To preserve that atmosphere, we maintain a no-parties policy. Alcohol is not served at the village, and we kindly ask you not to bring it with you. Smoking and vaping are allowed only in the designated area.
Can children join the retreat?
To preserve the quiet stillness and meditative environment of our retreat center, we welcome guests aged 16 and older.
What is the daily retreat program like?
Your days will flow with a carefully curated schedule designed to harmonize body and mind. Expect twice-daily yoga and meditation sessions, underwater meditation (freediving-based) with a certified instructor every day except Monday and Thursday, and ample time to simply breathe. See the full daily schedule.
What language are the practices in?
All of our yoga, meditation, and freediving practices are conducted in English.
What kind of food do you serve?
Our kitchen serves a nourishing, chef-made buffet three times a day: fresh vegetarian dishes, with locally sourced seafood added at dinner. Fruit and drinks are available throughout the day.
Is there Wi-Fi at Ocean Mantra Village?
Wi-Fi is available only in the restaurant area.
There is no Wi-Fi or mobile signal in the bungalows, glamping tents, or across the rest of the territory.
This is the nature of our wild land, and we respect it. Ocean Mantra Village is a space for deep reset, where disconnection from constant input becomes part of the experience.
If needed, you can always stay connected from the restaurant. The rest of the time, we invite you to be present, offline, and fully here.
Preparation & amenities
How do I get to Ocean Mantra Village?
We are located in East Sumbawa, Indonesia. Fly to Bima Airport (BMU) — daily direct flights from Bali (DPS) or Lombok (LOP) take about 1 hour. Our driver will meet you at the airport, and the drive to Ocean Mantra takes around 2.5 hours. We arrange the transfer for you. The price is 800,000 IDR per car, one way, payable to us on site by card or cash (Indonesian rupiah only). If other guests are travelling at the same time, the cost is shared between you. Read the full travel guide.
What should I pack for my stay?
Pack light, but bring essentials for both action and stillness:
- Plenty of comfortable sports and yoga clothing
- Sun protection (sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses)
- A sarong or light shawl for breezy evenings
- Swimsuits (freediving gear or a water lycra will help)
- Mosquito repellent
- A personal first-aid kit and any medication you need
- Personal toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, and, if you use them, hair conditioner and body cream
Your room is eco-conscious and equipped with basic natural soap, shampoo, and body wash. We do not provide single-use toiletries such as toothbrushes and toothpaste to reduce waste on our remote island.
Is there a dress code at the village?
Swimwear is welcome on the beach and around the pool. In all other areas of the village, including the restaurant and the yoga shala, please wear clothes over your swimwear out of respect for other guests and local customs.

To protect the calm of the village and respect local customs, we do not accept nude, loud, or extreme practices. If you are unsure whether your program fits, just ask us before booking.
